About Us

Since its establishment in 1956, the College of Management at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) has reached significant achievements in management education in Taiwan, Republic of China. For all these decades, the college has consistently devoted itself to the economic development of the country through producing high quality researches and scholars to serve both business and government sectors. The college not only has gained high reputation throughout Taiwan but also was recognized by the Ministry of Education as “first place” in 2001 and as “excellent” in 2005. Moreover, based on several surveys, our graduates are regarded by the business sector as the “most-welcomed” employees among all universities in this country.

To assure the high quality of the program, in January 2006, the College of Management has become a member of the AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). The AACSB is the professional association for college and university management education and the premier accrediting agency for bachelor, master, and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting.

In response to the trend towards internationalism, the focus of the College of Management of NCKU is to cultivate a complete global vision through an extensive international exposure. The College has been actively engaging in academic affiliates and cooperation with prestigious international institutions to meet the challenges of the future. Activities such as international conferences, formal exchange programs and short-term visits to and from foreign countries by both students and faculty members are conducted. In addition, we always strive to continually establish integrated frameworks aiming to bridge the College and international corporations or institutions. Through this framework, students are expected to benefit from learning the real-world business and management problems as well as being granted opportunities to research, practice, and exchange knowledge with experiences of various business sectors.

Our close relationship with industry has made the College knowledgeable in industrial problems. Continual and mutual communication with the business sector has enabled our scholars and students to solve business problems and to aid industries towards increased competitiveness in international markets in accordance with governmental policies.

In addition, the fact that NCKU is located in Tainan city brings about advantages to international students as they can enjoy their lives while studying abroad. Tainan, the ancient capital of Taiwan, is situated on the southwestern coastal plains of the island and enjoys a warm climate year-round. It is the island’s oldest and now fourth largest city, with a population in excess of 700,000. The gentle-natured people of the city are warmly hospitable, and the relatively tranquil life seems far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern urban life. The harmonization of old traditions and advanced technologies, such as Tainan Science Park, shows her attractiveness and vitality in the global market. Therefore, Tainan is the perfect choice to continue education with a great experience through learning the harmony of modern as well as ancient history.
